Ministry Info:

St. Marks Youth ministry is all about the Youth - today, tomorrow and always. Based mostly, but not entirely, in the St. Marks Youth Group (SMYG!), the Youth Ministry is about shining the light of Christ on our youth, and in turn, having it shine back. "Youth" begins in 6th grade and extends through college age. The Youth are involved in a number of activities for faith growth and enrichment within, and to outreach that faith in the community. In recent years, youth from outside the church have been joining in regularly for activities and spiritual growth. Activities include regular Youth meetings, Youth Sunday School, participation in community events, fund raising for future Youth events and activities and service.

Jesse Woodrow currently serves as Youth Director for St. Marks.

In addition to regular monthly activities, SMYG participates in annual "big events" including traveling to the National Youth Gathering (attended in the summer of 2009 in New Orleans, and will attend again in 2012), Mission Trips (attending Nashville in 2011), and Youth retreat trips (SMYG spent a week in Virginia Beach this past summer.) We also have semi-annual weekend retreats that include multiple learning sessions.

The Youth Group is open to all youth from 6th grade up and their friends, as well as visitors outside the "youth age."

Check out SMYG on Facebook by visiting the “St. Mark’s on Facebook” tab on the left side of this page. There you will find our monthly schedule of events and be able to participate in our online community.

*St. Mark’s does have a child protection policy in place. All teachers and youth workers have been screened.
